Video: The trailer for new horror film The Babadook is genuinely terrifying

We knew that nothing good would come from reading...

We knew that nothing good would come from reading…

JOE is getting slightly more cynical and easy to frighten in our old age of 97… OK, so we may have added on a few more years to our age but we’re still easily scared. It’s been a while since we enjoyed a good old-fashioned horror film, The Conjuring was probably the last one, but this trailer for The Babadook looks promising.

Six years after the death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss and struggling to discipline her ‘out of control’ 6-year-old son, they all act up at that age don’t they?

It doesn’t help that Samuel’s dreams are being plagued by a sinister monster that he believes is coming to kill them both. Bad monster, bad. When a disturbing storybook called ‘The Babadook’ turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he’s been dreaming about.

Cue scenes of freaky dreams, creepy kids and even more spooky going ons…

The Babadook will be in cinemas on October 4th but in the meantime JOE will be avoiding all creepy kids that are having premonitions about ghosts like the plague.
