That’s one way of describing it anyway.
The Eurovision song contest takes place in Stockholm next weekend and although we haven’t done well in it for quite some time (bloody politics, eh?), it still holds special place in the hearts of Irish people.
Ireland has, of course, a distinguished record in the contest having won it a record seven times and last night, one of those past winners, Linda Martin, was rolled out on the Late Late to sing the song that won it for her in 1992, ‘Why Me’.
The performance Linda delivered last night was not like anything we’ve heard before and seemed more like an attempt at the type of song you’d expect to win the Eurovision these days.
