The film will dance its way into Irish cinemas later in the year.
During Sunday night's Oscars - where Nomadland won Best Picture - the teaser for Steven Spielberg's highly-anticipated West Side Story remake was released.
Based on the iconic musical, which was later adapted into a 1961 film that won 10 Oscars, Spielberg's film will star Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver, The Fault in Our Stars) and newcomer Rachel Zegler.
Set in 1957 and inspired by Romeo and Juliet, the story centres around two youngsters from rival New York City gangs who fall in love as tensions between their respective friends build toward tragedy.
Spielberg's frequent collaborator Tony Kushner (Munich, Lincoln) wrote the screenplay for the new take on the story, which will also star Brian d'Arcy James (Spotlight), Corey Stoll (Ant-Man), Maddie Ziegler (Music) and Rita Moreno, who appeared in the 1961 film.
The West Side Story remake will arrive in Irish cinemas this December. Until then, check out its gorgeous-looking, exciting teaser trailer below.
