Take note if you’re attending…

Increased security measures have been a feature of Irish festivals and concerts this year and this looks set to continue this weekend.

We already saw the extensive and almost ridiculous list of items banned from the Guns N’ Roses gig in Slane earlier this year, and there’s also a list of prohibited items from Electric Picnic.

Organisers have warned that you may be body and/or bag searched at the entrance, onsite or on leaving the venue, which may include a full body pat down and/or use of hand held metal detectors.

Any person who refuses to be searched by a steward or other person acting on the behalf of the promoter will be refused admission or ejected from site.

Any item which may be reasonably considered for use as a weapon, or which may cause danger or disruption to any other persons at the event, will be confiscated.

Excessive amounts of food, cigarettes and alcohol may be refused entry to the site.

There’s a limit of 48 cans per person allowed into the campsite.

Below is a list of prohibited items which are not allowed into Electric Picnic.

  • Smoke & Gas canisters
  • Aerosols over 250ml
  • Airhorns
  • Fireworks or flares
  • Glass (Larger than 100ml)
  • Illegal substances, drugs, ‘legal highs’
  • Laser equipment/pens

  • Nitrous oxide
  • Sky or ‘chinese’ lanterns
  • Sound systems
  • Spray cans
  • Tabards/high viz jackets
  • Drones
