Keeping the streets safe and the crowds entertained in Portlaoise.
Ireland was blessed with glorious sunshine over the weekend and to celebrate, Irish people did what Irish people always do in those circumstances; they drank outdoors.
In Dublin, that meant big bags of cans by the canal, while in Portlaoise, a local band known as The Jury took to the streets to entertain the customers of the Sally Gardens pub who were enjoying their beverages outside.
While doing so, lead singer Noel Kelly made a point of getting two Gardaí stood at the other side of the street involved and while one was rather reluctant to belt out a few lines of Mr.Brightside, the other proved more than willing to join in, much to the delight of the audience...
Dancing at Arcade Fire, joining in with the craic at Robbie Williams and now this; the Gardaí seem to be enjoying the summer music season as much as anyone.
Great to see.
