Boil notice affecting 600,000 people has officially been lifted

Irish Water has confirmed that the Boil Water Notice for over 600,000 customers supplied by the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant has been lifted. The latest notice takes immediate effect. In a statement issued on Friday afternoon, the organisation confirmed that it had been agreed that the notice would be lifted during a meeting with the HSE and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Preliminary results of an audit and the water sampling results satisfied the various bodies enough to lift the boil notice. A spokesperson for Irish Water confirmed that this means water can be consumed as normal.
