US/UK relations going well, then.
Having lashed out at outgoing UK Prime Minister Theresa May on Monday, US President Donald Trump has zeroed in on Kim Darroch.
Darroch, currently acting as the UK’s official ambassador to the US, was referenced in Trump’s tirade on Monday in especially dismissive terms.
“I do not know the ambassador, but he is not liked or well thought of within the U.S.,” Trump offered.
“We will no longer deal with him,” he added.
Evidently, this wasn’t enough of an admonishing. On Tuesday, Trump once again hit up Twitter to accost Darroch, labelling him both “wacky” and “stupid”.
“The wacky ambassador that the UK foisted upon the United States is not someone we are thrilled with, a very stupid guy,” Trump began.
“He should speak to his country, and Prime Minister May, about their failed Brexit negotiation, and not be upset with my criticism of how badly it was handled.
“I told Theresa May how to do that deal, but she went her own foolish way – was unable to get it done. A disaster!
“I don’t know the ambassador but have been told he is a pompous fool,” Trump continued.
“Tell him the USA now has the best economy and military anywhere in the world, by far and they are both only getting bigger, better and stronger. Thank you, Mr President!”

Darroch is due to leave his post in December.
The row stems from a number of leaked emails from Darroch in which he was adjudged to be critical of the Trump administration, hence this two-day backlash.
