Gardaí and nurses get free tickets to Copper Face Jacks: The Musical for their work through the storm

Michael Lanigan

This is nothing short of being well deserved.

While the majority of the country came to a standstill as Storm Emma blanketed us in snow, Gardaí and nurses were working tirelessly around the clock in some of the worst imaginable conditions.

So, as a small gesture on behalf of an extremely grateful (and cold) nation, the producers of not even Copper Face Jacks themselves were open are offering 100 free tickets to an exclusive preview at the Olympia Theatre on 9 July to Gardaí and nurses who went above and beyond the call of duty.

Put it this way, it was so bad not even Copper Face Jacks themselves were open.

The upcoming musical, written by Paul Howard (Ross O’Carroll-Kelly) and launched this week, Copper Face Jacks: The Musical is a comedy that sees an innocent Kerry girl called Nuala move to Dublin for her dream job in the VHI only to find herself falling head over her flat shoes for a Dublin lad called Gino who just happens to be the captain of the Dublin footballers.

Described as “Moulin Rouge with slow sets” this puppet based musical opens in the Olympia Theatre from 5 July 2018.

Any Gardaí or nurses interested in getting their hands on a pair of these special tickets are asked to tweet a picture of them at working during Storm Emma to @CopperMusical using the hashtag #CoppersMusical.
