There’s no talking your way out of this one.

There are currently over 550 traffic offences which are the subject of Fixed Charge Notices but one of the most galling violations has recently occurred in Athy, Kildare.

Since being established in 2003, the Fixed Charge Processing System (FCPS) has provided computerised and automated processing of Road Traffic (including drink-driving) and Public Order Offences, but there’s no legislating for dangerous and reckless behaviour on Irish roads.

The Gardaí recently spotted a motorist that was having a can of beer whilst driving in Athy and they’ve used this opportunity to remind the public to never ever drink and drive.
