Have you heard about the naturist conference taking place in Leitrim?

The 34th International Naturist Congress descended upon Drumshanbo in County Leitrim yesterday.

We’re just a little bit disappointed it didn’t happen in the main town of Leitrim so we could run a Carry-On-Shannon headline. Naturists from Brazil, Canada, USA, New Zealand, Australia and all across Europe attended the four-day conference that kicked off in the Lough Allen Hotel yesterday.

The Irish Naturist Association has over 300 members (phnaar) and prior to the event, their President, Pat Gallagher told the Mirror “There is potential for tourism in naturism. In the conference area it will be clothing optional. People who want to strip off can do so; those who don’t want to strip off needn’t.”

Not sure I’d be too happy with people at a naturist convention who didn’t want to strip off in fairness. That’s like ordering a quarter-pounder at a vegan festival. Or something.
