Met Éireann's newest national forecast contains both good news and bad news regarding Ireland's ongoing heatwave.
The good news is that there will be a few more days to enjoy the sunshine, while the bad news is that the high temperatures won't be sticking around for the bank holiday weekend.
The Irish meteorological service states that conditions will remain day and sunny today (Tuesday, 28 April) and Wednesday, with temperatures reaching as high as 19 degrees.
Thursday, however, will be cloudier with "outbreaks of rain gradually spreading northeastwards across the country, turning heavy at times".
That said, highest temperatures will generally range from 14 to 18 degrees, aside from in the southwest of Ireland, where it will be cooler.
Friday will see a mix of sunny spells and showers as, again, temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees are expected.
By Saturday, conditions will take a more severe turn.
Met Éireann's forecast reads: "Cloudier on Saturday with widespread showers, some of which may turn heavy.
"Feeling cooler with highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees."
It also adds: "Turning cooler on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday with a mix of scattered showers and sunny spells."
