Irish teenager killed in two vehicle collision in Australia

Tragic news.

An Irish teenager has died following a two-vehicle collision in Victoria in Australia on Saturday (4 June).

The collision occurred in Cobden, a town around 200km away from Melbourne at around 1.20am local time.

The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Bond Street and Cross Forest Road, causing the 18-year-old man to be eject from the vehicle.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men in the vehicle, a 30-year-old and a 21-year-old, have been transported to Warrnambool Hospital with one being treated for serious injuries.

All the occupants of the vehicle were Irish, and are understood to have worked in the local area.

The driver of the other vehicle, a woman, has also been taken to hospital as a precaution.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
