It’s not looking too promising.

Met Éireann has said that there’s “a lot of uncertainty” regarding the conditions coming for Ireland but they’re expecting “very disturbed weather” as Ireland looks set to experience some adverse conditions.

This being said, these uncertain weather conditions aren’t expected to be felt until early next week. However, the immediate forecast isn’t too uplifting because rain and wind is expected.

As stated on their website, today will be cloudy and breezy in western and northern areas with showery rain at times. It’s set to be brighter in the east and south though with some sunny spells for a time. However, showers are set to fall later in the day.

These showers are expected to be persistent in many places later  tonight, but they’ll be staying well scattered in the south and southeast.

Friday morning will see persistent and heavy rainfall throughout the country which will turn into scattered showers throughout the day. Northern and northwestern areas are expected to see brighter conditions as the day develops. Friday night will be mostly dry and cool throughout with the odd shower.

As for the weekend, the rain will be strong in Ulster, Connacht and parts of West Munster during Saturday morning. The evening is expected to be mild, humid and wet in most places.

On Sunday morning, scattered showers will develop through Connacht, Ulster and west Munster.

Sadly, the rain will be persistent elsewhere but the heavy rainfall should reduce throughout the evening.

As for the start of next week, the “very disturbed weather” should make an appearance as Met Éireann state that there’s a “a risk of some extremely windy conditions with heavy rainfall on Monday night or Tuesday but there is a large degree of uncertainty in details at present.”

The reputable weather outlet Carlow Weather has stated that “The latest charts on Helene show its path is still heading for Ireland with strong gusts on Monday night as she moves through Ireland.”
