Suffer from coulrophobia? Then be prepared to get no sleep for a week…
There are still 45 days to go until Halloween but, according to a report in the Northampton Herald & Post, the English town in the East Midlands has already been terrorised over the weekend by a red-haired, white-faced, balloon-carrying mystery clown.
Reportedly appearing initially on Friday 13th, one dementedly hilarious soul has taken it upon themselves to dress up as Pennywise the psychotic clown from the Stephen King-inspired 1990 horror film, It.
JOE DOESN’T NEED THIS KIND OF TERRIFYING SH*T ON A MONDAY MORNING PENNYWISE.
Inspiring a ‘Spot Northampton’s Clown’ Facebook page, the mystery midnight wanderer has been snapped by a brave few who have had the courage to go in search of him on the night-time Northampton streets.
The horror:
The newspaper article has also being backed up by a number of terrified tweets from the town’s residents, as the local population attempt to come to terms with the horror that grips their home town.
And even comedy legend Matt Berry got involved:
So far it’s unknown if the clown is available for birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs or Hen parties but, according to the article, the suspicious spooker “has knocked on someone’s door and offered to paint their sills despite having no painting equipment.”
Both terrifying and hilarious in equal measure.
No one is really sure who might be hiding under all of that clown makeup and curly red wig, but we’re pretty sure Homer Simpson hasn’t been spotted in a while…
