New York City’s JFK airport was evacuated on Monday morning after police received reports of shots fired.
Police did a sweep of the airport after receiving two reports of shots fired inside the airport’s terminal 8, but nothing was found to corroborate these reports. Furthermore, none of the airport’s security footage showed any evidence of a shooting.
Nevertheless, police took the matter very seriously, evacuating the airport. They can be seen in the below video ordering people to get on the ground.
Some reports have suggested that cheering and revelry related to the Olympic Games was mistaken for gunshots.
