WATCH: Shocking footage show tractor nearly hitting Irish cyclist on rural road

Cyclists are among the most vulnerable road users…

Despite the repeated safety adverts on television, incidents like the one below continue to happen on Irish roads.

We recently saw a very near miss on a road in Kildare where a car overtaking a group of cyclists narrowly avoided a collision with an oncoming car.

This footage uploaded by Staying Alive at 1.5, and brought to our attention by The Sticky Bottle, shows a cyclist named Paul Knightly out for a cycle on a rural road when he encountered this tractor driver.

It was uploaded with a quote from Paul which said: “If I hadn’t braked, It would have been a different story, I’m actually getting hit by the foliage on the ditch to avoid a collision, the rear wheel locked up and skidded on the mud, I was that far in.”

This is very scary…
