The President was in a combative mood.
Following the US mid-term elections that took place on Tuesday, Donald Trump held a press conference on Wednesday and was in feisty form after the Democratic Party took control of the House of Representatives.
During the press conference, the President was asked by CNN journalist Jim Acosta about a recent advert that was described as racist, to the point that it was pulled from Facebook.
Trump replied with a passionate, angry rant at Acosta.
“CNN should be ashamed of themselves having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person, and you shouldn’t be working for CNN.”
Another journalist stood up for the victim of this verbal attack, and claimed he was a diligent reporter, to which Trump replied: “Well I’m not a big fan of yours either.”
He also described CNN as “the enemy of the people”.
Trump’s aide had to physically try to take the mic off of Acosta at one point.
