A petition has been started to get Ireland v Belgium shown at Body & Soul

Tony Cuddihy

At the moment, there is no indication that Ireland’s second game at the European Championships will be shown at the festival in Ballinlough Castle.

A petition has been started to get the organisers of this weekend’s Body & Soul Festival in Co. Westmeath to show Ireland’s Euro 2016 clash with Belgium.

While we’re sure the people who run one of the best events of the summer have their reasons for making it a football-free zone, the fact that more than 700 people have already signed this petition is a sure sign of what the public want – lots of good music, dancing, nice food, a few drinks and a last minute winner from the boot of Shane Long.

It’s not too much to ask, is it?

Go here to sign the petition and hope that the powers-that-be get it done in the name of the Boys in Green.
