Video: This fake interview with Wexford hurler Tomás Waters is comedy gold

There is a career as some sort of comedic genius in his future whenever Waters hangs up his hurl.

JOE

There is a career as some sort of comedic genius in his future whenever Waters hangs up his hurl.

We can’t tell you why Oulart’s Lar Prendargast ends up interviewing St Martin’s and Wexford hurler Tomás Waters in hospital, but we are very glad they did.

With yet another Model hurler, Garrett Sinnott, on cameraman duty, the trio have shot a video that packs in more GAA/ould fella cliches than we think we have ever heard in four minutes as Prendargast quizzes Waters on all aspects of his GAA life so far.

We especially liked the pre-match meal question to which Waters replied: A baby Powers, a few Woodbines and a handful of jelly babies.

If you’re from Wexford, it is even funnier as various place names and clubs are dropped in, but it is worth a watch just for the repeated references to boiled eggs and the giggling of Sinnott and Prendergast.

Thanks to David Breen for the tip-off.
