You will soon be able to book appointments with fitness trainers on Instagram

Instagram really is the app that just keeps on insta-vating. (We were going for a play on innovating…)

Just a few months ago they launched their Stories update which put them in direct competition with Snapchat, but their latest tech step will push them into a different arena altogether.

According to Fortune, the app will soon allow Instagram users to peruse through any of the eight million businesses that use the app, and allow them to make appointments with them.

While that is going to be very applicable for bars and restaurants – and will put Instagram alongside the likes of Yelp and JustEat – it will also allow single-person businesses to find a new market for customers.

So if you are on the app and are digging a particular trainers workout pics or videos, you can make an appointment with them directly within the next few months once the update has been launched.

Same goes with hairdresses, make-up artists, and essentially all workers who use the app to sell their business and product but may not have an official website to do so.

This is going to be a real game-changer.
