This will raise the heart rates of a lot of people around Ireland…

Snapchat is one of the most popular apps in the country and it’s used by pretty much everyone at this stage. If you don’t have the app, the easiest ways to describe it is that you can send photos and videos that self-destruct after a maximum of ten seconds. Easy.

The reason it’s so popular is the self-destruct aspect of it, you can send whatever you want knowing that it well delete itself. Dangerous but very handy.

Everything seemed to be going so well until news emerged this week that up to 200,000 snaps have been leaked online. Uh-oh! *JOE’s Snapchat life flashes before our eyes*

The pictures and videos have since been deleted but not before thousands of people downloaded a large file containing the pieces of media.

A spokesperson for Snapchat says that the problem occurred because people started using 3rd-party apps that allows you to download photos and videos from Snapchat. However, many people say the site’s security isn’t up to scratch.

Our advice –  delete 3rd-party apps and keep it clean people.
