It’s a pity the quality of the video isn’t on the same level as the quality of the goal itself, but this is some effort from Inter Milan’s Freddy Guarin.
Scorpion kicks themselves, never mind when they end up in the back of the net, are rare things on the football pitch these days and ought to be treasured, which is why we’re conveniently ignoring the fact that not only was this effort from Freddy Guarin scored in a game of little significance – a pre-season friendly against Vicenza – it was actually scored in the warm-up before the game even started.
That might explain why the quality of the clip, from Inter Milan’s official YouTube channel, isn’t what it might be, but it’s still good enough to appreciate the quality of what is a spectacular finish from a player who has been linked with a move to Spurs over the summer months.
It might not be a Rene Higuita standard scorpion kick, but it’s still pretty special all the same.
