Five of the best known names in the GAA have become ambassadors for Ireland West Airport Knock over the summer.
The Airport currently employs over 125 people from around the region, supports 900 additional jobs and contributes a tourism spend of over €110m in the wider region.
With that in mind, Mayo’s Alan Dillon, Donegal pair Michael Murphy and Karl Lacey, Galway’s Michael Meehan and Westmeath’s Dessie Dolan joined forces to get onboard the ‘Supporting Your Community Campaign’.
Donegal defender Karl Lacey said that it was a simple decision for him to get involved with the Ireland West Knock Airport given the contribution it makes to the economy in the West of Ireland.
“As a frequent user of the airport I can see first hand the importance and invaluable role the airport plays for the region and it’s a great asset for people living in Donegal & the North West region,” he said.
Here are the five lads having a Knock-around at the airport while also telling us of the worthwhile contributions of having such a service in the West of Ireland.
