Sad news from the world of wrestling today as we heard of the death of Paul Bearer, the Undertaker's right hand man
By Adrian Collins
The world of wrestling has been shocked by the death of William Moody, also known as Paul Bearer, the lad with the urn who used to be the Undertaker's manager back in the day.
There's no doubt that Moody, in the guise of Bearer, added a great deal to the character of the Undertaker, as well as introducing Kane as his brother.
Moody did actually obtain a degree in mortuary sciences and was a qualified funeral director, which is how his character came about, after Vince McMahon suggested he draw on it for inspiration.
Moody was predominantly active in the 1990s, but made a reappearance in 2010 and was active up until recently, doing the odd appearance on WWE shows alongside Kane or Undertaker.
He will surely be sadly missed, and we at JOE will certainly remember him for his great, spooky speeches as the creepy funeral director.
