WATCH: Pilot heroically tackles #Ophelia winds to land plane at Dublin Airport

The flight landed successfully in Dublin Airport at 14:22.

This pilot deserves a gold medal.

Passengers aboard a flight from Faro, Portugal to Dublin had a bumpy landing as the pilot negotiated winds caused by ex-Hurricane Ophelia.

The strength of the wind can be heard clearly in the video, and soon after the plane flies over the head of the cameraman it begins rocking from side to side.

As it heads over the wire fence and makes for the runway, the plane starts to tip dangerously to its left hand-side.

However, the pilot manages to correct the plane immediately and grounds the aircraft safely seconds later and it can only be assumed that his fantastic piece of landing was met with a round of applause at the very end.

The Aer Lingus flight EI491 from Faro was originally meant to be in the capital at 13:50 but was delayed and landed safely in Dublin at 14:22, however, the same flight tonight which was due to come into Dublin Airport at midnight has been cancelled.
