Ireland take on Sweden in a massive World Cup qualifier tomorrow night and ahead of the game, Radio Roy gathered an all-star Gift Grub crew to sing an Abba classic.
Ireland’s World Cup qualification fate is likely to be decided in the next few days as the Boys in Green take on Sweden and Austria, with all three sides deadlocked on 11 points behind a German outfit who are running away with Group C.
It’s as close to ‘Winner Takes It All’ as you could get at this stage and with that in mind, Radio Roy couldn’t have picked a more fitting song to sing than that one from Abba, arguably the only Swedes more famous than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Roy gathered together an all-star cast including regulars Ronan Keating and Keith Duffy, Irish captain Robbie Keane, Trap himself and his translator Manuela, President Michael D Higgins, and Bill O’Herlihy and the RTE football panel, who all sang a few bars in another excellent segment from the Gift Grub crew.
Now, as Gift Grub Ronan might say, ‘Come Ooooonnnnn Ireland’.
