JOE’s favourite comedy songs

They're funny. They're songs. They're funny songs.

Eoghan Doherty

To paraphrase the great Ron Burgundy, “If you don’t think that these songs are the greatest songs ever, I will fight you. That’s no lie.”

Here at JOE we’ve decided to pick out five of our favourite comedy songs, all to celebrate the fact that our pals at McDonald’s will be offering you and a friend the exclusive opportunity to see the excellent Tinchy Stryder (who may or may not perform a comedy song of his own) play an intimate gig at a secret Dublin location on Friday 29th November.

While we’re on the subject of Ron Burgundy, let’s kick off with the man himself and his classy buddies…

The Channel 4 News Team – Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight – Anchorman Music Video from Mr Andrew Ault on Vimeo.

And the original performance in all of its Anchorman glory:

Eric Idle – Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life

The Rubberbandits – Horse Outside

Flight Of The Conchords – Business Time

So if you fancy going to see Tinchy Stryder and think that you can write better comedy lyrics than this great bunch of lads, then get yourself over to the McDonald’s #eurosaverLIVE Meme Generator where you can put your own unique, ridiculous twist on the lyrics of some famous songsters.
