Video: A brutal uppercut landed perfectly in an ice hockey fight last night

Most NHL fights don’t have much in the way of decent punches. This fight was very different

Last night’s match between the Montreal Canadiens and the New Jersey Devils featured a fairly standard first period brawl as the Devils Can Janssen hit a guy he shouldn’t with a cheap shot, so Montreal’s Brandon Prust stepped in to throw down with him.

In the video, the fight seems pretty standard but if you skip to 1.34 you will see a super slow mo of an absolute peach of an uppercut landed by Prust right on Janssen’s jaw.

Fair play to Janssen, he falters but stays on his feet and both men were eventually separate to go serve their fighting penalties in the box.

With skills like that, Prust might have a career in the ring or Octagon though.
