Luis Suarez bagged a hat-trick as Liverpool came from behind to thrash Cardiff City 6-3 at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Cardiff were the far better team in the opening stages of the game, with Jordan Mutch’s fine finish no more than they’ve deserved.
A patient Liverpool finally put together a decent passage of play, with Suarez turning in Glen Johnson’s cross.
However, Liverpool again let the game get away from them as Fraizer Campbell applied a cool finish to beat Simon Mignolet.
Liverpool pressed for a second equaliser, and got it when Martin Skrtel stabbed home Philippe Coutinho’s cross.
Skrtel put Liverpool ahead from a corner, with two Cardiff players off the pitch, at the start of the second half.
Liverpool made it 4-2 thanks to a glorious assist from Daniel Sturridge for Luis Suarez.
Sturridge got the goal his play deserved after being set up by Suarez to make it 5-2.
Despite Liverpool’s dominance, Jordan Mutch managed to grab his second of the game after a Kenwyne Jones knockdown.
Finally, Luis Suarez raced clear, ignored Raheem Sterling and completed his hat-trick.
