The cost of fixing the plane is absolutely staggering…
We’ve all been in the situation, where after our flight lands, the first and only idea in our heads is to leave the plane as quickly as possible without smacking our luggage off the heads of any fellow passengers.
We imagine that this man must have experienced the most awkward 2 hours of his life though after he prematurely opened the emergency exit door, deployed the emergency slide and kept his fellow passengers waiting for a further two hours in the plane after it landed in the Sanya Phoenix International Airport in the province of Hainan, China.
We can’t help but instantly instantly think of this.
You have to admire the reason though as to why this China Eastern passenger did such a stupid thing. He said that he didn’t pay attention to the safety instructions at the beginning of the flight and didn’t know the emergency door and emergency slide were for emergencies only.
Police later asked him why he opened the door. His response: “To get off the plane quicker.”
We can’t help but think of this Fr Ted reference after hearing this story.
It wasn’t just common sense that took a beating on this flight as this act of stupidity caused over over $16,000 in damages for the airline.
