Here’s who you voted as Irish Movie Star of the Year for 2015

Conor Heneghan

Can’t really argue with this one.

If there’s ever been a better year for Irish actors in recent memory then we can’t recall it.

Domhnall Gleeson is currently wowing Star Wars fans around the world with his performance in The Force Awakens. Jack Reynor is making waves at home and abroad with bigger things to come in 2016.

Colin Farrell shone in True Detective and earned rave reviews for his role in sci-fi comedy flick, the Lobster, and Chris O’Dowd took on one of his biggest roles yet as journalist David Walsh in a portrayal of the downfall of disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong.

The winner of the JOE Irish Movie Star of 2015 arguably eclipsed all of that, however and could well take home a marginally bigger award at the Oscars next year for his remarkable performance as Steve Jobs in the movie of the same name.

attends the "Steve Jobs" Closing Night Gala during the BFI London Film Festival, at Odeon Leicester Square on October 18, 2015 in London, England.

He was great in Macbeth and with Assassin’s Creed and another X-Men outing planned, he already has a huge 2016 lined-up too.

Congratulations Michael Fassbender.
