Great scenes.
Having just missed out on a medal at the London Olympics four years ago, Annalise Murphy’s hard work, commitment and dedication ultimately paid off after she secured the silver medal in the women’s laser radial sailing in Rio de Janeiro.
A fifth-place finish in the event was enough to secure silver for Annalise, the gold ultimately going to Marit Bouwmeester of the Netherlands, but Annalise did the entire nation proud by securing our second medal of the Olympic Games.
We’re delighted to see that Annalise was given a rousing reception when she arrived at her official homecoming at Dun Laoghaire.
Take a look.
