U2 fans are in for a special treat tonight in Croke Park

JOE

Welcome home, U2.

If you’re heading to the U2 concert tonight in Croke Park, first of all we are extremely jealous and secondly, you are in for a big treat.

There will be a flyover taking place on Saturday night as part of their unreal Joshua Tree tour which will bring their digital backdrop to life.

It is scheduled to take place at 9:10pm and it is said that there will be three planes flying over the jam packed stadium.

The band will be playing Where The Streets Have No Name when the flyover takes place.

Residents in the Croke Park area got a text message earlier this evening from concert organisers about the flyover which read:

“We have just been informed that a flyover will take place this evening as part of U2’s concert in Croke Park. We understand that this flyover has been approved by the Irish Aviation Authority.

“The flyover is scheduled to take place at 9:10pm and involves three planes. The planes will fly at a high level over the stadium to minimise disruption and impact.

“We sincerely apologise that we were unable to inform you about this at an earlier juncture but thank you in advance for your understanding and continued cooperation.”
