Drugs seized as grow house discovered in County Kerry

The discovery was made in Glenbeigh.

Approximately €112,000 worth of suspected cannabis plants and €80,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb (all pending analysis) has been seized following the search of a house in County Kerry.

The search – which commenced on Sunday 12 August in Glenbeigh led to a number of Gardaí discovering a sophisticated grow house in operation.

At approximately 8pm, Gardaí from the Killarney District executed a search warrant and inducted a search.

During the course of the search, Gardaí seized 140 cannabis plants and cannabis herb (pending analysis) with a combined value of €192,000.

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Some three weeks ago, a joint investigation by the Revenue Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau led to the seizure of drugs with an estimated overall value of over €3 million.

A number of packages were seized by customs, containing approximately 30kgs of MDMA and 20kgs of ketamine.
