The video has been the subject of huge controversy.

Over the weekend, a video emerged of a MAGA-hat wearing army of Donald Trump supporters attending the Indigenous People’s March in Washington D.C.

The video immediately caused a great deal of controversy, as it appeared to show that a number of the young Trump supporters were mocking and hassling elderly Native American people at the event.

In the video, they can be seen mocking and laughing at an elderly Native American man, while also appearing to attempt to intimidate the man.

Donald Trump has since weighed in on the subject by claiming that the students had been “treated unfairly”.

He finished the tweet by seemingly attempting to link to a video or article of some sort, but instead just posted the words: “New footage shows that media was wrong about teen’s encounter with Native American”.

A follow up tweet came shortly after, which read: “Nick Sandmann and the students of Covington have become symbols of Fake News and how evil it can be. They have captivated the attention of the world, and I know they will use it for the good – maybe even to bring people together. It started off unpleasant, but can end in a dream!”

Trump’s tweets were in response to claims that the Native American man approached the students first, rather than the other way around.

The incident took place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, where the students from Covington Catholic High School in Park Hills Kentucky had gathered for a March for Life protest.
