Donald Trump claims Michael Cohen’s hearing contributed to North Korea’s negotiations failure

“A new low in American politics”, according to Donald Trump.

Last week was quite an important one in the world of American politics and their foreign policy.

In the country, Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen called the president of the United States a ‘racist’, a ‘con man’ and a ‘cheat’ under oath in a hearing in front of congress.

While that was going on, Donald Trump was over in North Korea as part of a nuclear summit, as he met with Kim Jong-un in an attempt to convince the North Korean dictator to make concessions the U.S. had requested.

The meeting did not yield any results.

He has now explained how outraged he is that such an important hearing took place while he was out of the country, and how it had a negative effect on his meeting with Kim.

Trump took to Twitter to describe the incident as “a new low in American politics”, while also saying that they could have held it a few days later and had more time to prepare.

Speaking at a news conference following the meeting on Thursday, Trump described the North Korean leader as “quite a character”.

“We spent pretty much all day with Kim Jong-un, who is, he’s quite a guy and quite a character,” said Trump.

“I think our relationship is very strong, but at this time, we had some options, and at this time we decided not to do any of the options.

“And we’ll see where that goes, but it was a very interesting two days. I think, actually, it was a very productive two days but sometimes you have to walk, and this was just one of those times.”
