“That’s not a knife… THAT’s a knife.”
Congratulations, you’ve made it halfway through the work week.
And to treat yourself, why not relax on the sofa with one of these fine films airing on telly tonight (25 May).
Crocodile Dundee – Comedy Central – 9pm
Our pick for tonight, this comedy tells the story of an eccentric crocodile poacher (Paul Hogan) invited to come from the Australian outback to New York by an American reporter (Linda Kozlowski).
A very fun fish out of water comedy with some extremely quotable lines, Crocodile Dundee was a smash hit upon release in 1986 and spawned two sequels.
The Predator – Film4 – 9pm
The most recent movie in the Predator franchise until the prequel Prey comes out this summer.
47 Ronin – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm
A not-good fantasy epic starring Keanu Reeves.
Robocop 3 – ITV4 – 9pm
The one without Peter Weller.
The Butterfly Room – Horror Channel – 9pm
Cult horror legend Barbara Steele stars in this 2012 chiller.
Legion – Horror Channel – 10.45pm
Paul Bettany plays an angel with a machine gun trying to stop God and his heavenly armies from wiping out humanity.
Legion is not as great as it sounds but it is intermittently quite fun.
War for the Planet of the Apes – Film4 – 11.10pm
The third entry in the Planet of the Apes reboot series adds Woody Harrelson to the franchise.
Demolition Man – ITV4 – 11.10pm
Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes star in this ’90s action-comedy that JOE just recommended last week.
Ocean’s Thirteen – Turner Classic Movies – 11.30pm
George Clooney’s band of suave thieves turn their attention to a villainous casino mogul played by Al Pacino.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
