Easy Exercise of the Week: Roll over stomps to floor

That's a posh way of saying bouncing a medicine ball off the ground

Alan Loughnane

That’s a posh way of saying bouncing a medicine ball off the ground…

This is a great exercise to build up your core strength but also increasing the flexibility in your arms, chest, shoulders and back.

Basically, it’s really good for your fitness and general well-being so you should do this as soon as you get a chance.

Instructions…

  1. Stand with you feet shoulder just outside shoulder width apart.
  2. Hold the medicine ball in two hands and lean forward slightly all the while, keeping your back straight.
  3. Swing the ball out and up over your head and slam it onto the floor in front of you.
  4. Repeat in three sets of four reps and gradually build that number up over time.
  5. Make sure when you’re bringing the ball down, to keep you stomach clenched which will ensure you’re not bending your back.

NB – It’s important to be aware that the ball will bounce, so take care not to let it rebound and hit you in the face or land on your foot.
