JOE

Have you got an idea for what an Irish Haka would look like? Then get it on film and you could win yourself some free gear.

Everyone admires the New Zealand rugby team’s pre-match routine, the Haka, a traditional Maori dance designed to strike fear into their opponents. And the folks at Lidl like it so much they have decided that it is time us Irish folk had our own version and they need your help.

All you have to do is grab a bunch of people from your team, club, class, school or community and perform an Irish-style Haka on camera.

Here are a few simple rules and bits of advice for you;

Judging will be based on
– Touch= base with your local community and raise the profile of your club
– Pause= Take time to come up with an innovative and creative concept for your video
– Engage= get people talking in your community

The competition is open to entrants of all ages. Entries from rugby teams and clubs for adults, children and schools are all welcome.
There is no restriction on the number of people you have in your video. Get your community involved. Players, parents, coaches, teachers, grandparents, neighbours and local sporting heroes can all play a part in helping you kit out your club.

Oh yes, and the judges will be Irish rugby players Paddy Jackson and Ian Madigan

What can you win?

Lidl are offering the lucky winners a prize fund of €2,500 to help them kit out their club. Entrants also have the opportunity to win some amazing bonus prizes awarded for the following;
– Most creative concept
– Best use of costume
– Most interesting location
