Celebrity Chefs we love to hate: Valentine Warner

This week we’ve gone for the celebrity chef who’s been dubbed “the Russell Brand of the kitchen” – enough said. So here’s why we love to hate Valentine Warner.

Valentine Warner is your typical celebrity chef. He’s all artsy fartsy about his meals and cooking a simple plate of chicken and chips or pizza is not on the menu for awl Val.

Just take a look at the video below. Instead of just enjoying some cool refreshing watermelon on its own like a normal person, Valentine has to add some salt and chilli for the ‘extra kick’. Now, while we might give it a go if we were in Mexico, we certainly wouldn’t be trying out his strange concoctions in our own kitchen – not that we ever actually use our own kitchen.

He’s also been ‘affectionately referred to’ as ‘Truffle Head’ by many critics, mainly thanks to his love of – you guessed it – truffles. Now, if you remember back to last week’s celebrity chef we love to hate, Nigel Slater, you’ll remember reading that a bloke by the name of Stanley Ho purchased 1.5 kgs of white truffle, hailing from Tuscany, for €250,000 back in 2007.

Safe to say none of us will be eat truffles on a daily basis anytime soon, so we can’t even use, nor are we bothered to read, half of Valentine’s recipes. While he might be the ‘Russell Brand’ of celebrity chefs (for some unknown reason to us), he’s still the type of chef we just love to hate. He also needs a good haircut.

Instead of forking over a fortune for a bag of smelly truffles and spicing up your watermelon with chilli, why not just pick up your laptop and order in a tasty meal at a reasonable price from Just-Eat.ie.

Take the hassle out of being the chef tonight – remember – Don’t Cook, JUST EAT
