And with a reputation for tourism like Ireland does, why wouldn’t we?
Hotels, tourist attractions, conference centres and cities in Ireland and even the country itself have all been nominated in a number of different categories for the very prestigious World Travel Awards.
Ireland itself has been nominated as Europe’s Leading Destination for 2017, while Dublin and Belfast have both been nominated for Europe’s Leading City Break Destinations for 2017 in a gala awards ceremony that will take place in St. Petersburg in Russia on September 30 before a Grand Final in Vietnam in December.
As well as nominations for Ireland, Dublin and Belfast, there was also good news for Cork, with nods for Spike Island in Cork in Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction category and Inchydoney Lodge and Spa in the category for Europe’s Leading Island Resort.
Elsewhere, Sandymount Hotel landed a nomination for Europe’s Leading Green Hotel, the Hilton in Belfast is up for the award for Europe’s Leading Meetings & Conference Hotel, while the Convention Centre in Dublin will be one of the venues battling it out for the award for Europe’s Leading Meeting and Conference Centre.
