Looks like psychic Wayne might be out of a job. Bet he didn’t see that coming

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has upheld complaints made against TV3’s ‘Psychic Readings Live’. So it looks like psychic Wayne could be out of a job.

If you’ve never seen TV3’s ‘Psychic Readings Live’ then we implore you to check it out tonight (it’s been on for two hours every night since June), not so much for the ‘wondrous’ psychic readings, but more so for the entertainment value. Why? Because that’s all it is – entertainment.

A woman made two separate complaints to the BAI after she felt callers were getting readings that could not be classed as ‘entertainment’. Basically, the psychics can spiel you anything they want once it doesn’t involve your health – that’s when they have to turn you away because even for psychics, it’s unethical to talk about your health seeing as they’re not trained medical professionals.

However, two separate readings, which were shown live on air, did happen to involve people’s health and as we said, you can’t be doing that. The BAI said that Psychic Readings Live did not meet the requirements that “all commercial communications shall be legal, honest, decent and truthful and protect the interests of the audience”. So the complaints have been upheld.

So what does it all mean for psychic Wayne and that guy who looks like a girl (or the girl who looks like a guy – we’re not too sure)? Well, you could always ask them tonight. We’re sure they have an answer just waiting for you… Having said that, if you can remember back to PlayTV then you’ll remember that it didn’t take long before complaints shut them down. You better watch out Wayne.
