A navy seal reveals the secret to getting up early in the morning

There you have it folks.

Alan Loughnane

This could be useful for you tomorrow morning…

The glorious, fluffy goodness of your pillow and duvet is very difficult to refuse in the morning. Even though you know that one more snooze will put you late for work and you’ll have to sacrifice your shower in favour of a lengthy spray of deodorant, you still want those ten more minutes.

Otherwise you might lie in bed and play on your phone as you try to summon the will power to roll yourself out of bed and start your day.

But this is the exact wrong thing to do, waking up gradually is not the way to go according to retired Navy SEAL commander Jocko Willink.

“Don’t think in the morning,” Willink told Business Insider. “That’s a big mistake that people make. They wake up in the morning, and they start thinking.”

When Jocko’s alarm goes in the morning, he jumps straight out of bed and puts on the workout clothes he prepared the night before. He already has his to-do-list for the morning prepared and goes straight into his tasks.

Willink said: “Don’t think. Just execute the plan. The plan is the alarm clock goes off, you get up, you go work out. Get some.”

There you have it folks, don’t even think about it, just do it…
