PICS: Irish Mammy goes above and beyond to make sure her family doesn’t eat meat on Good Friday

Carl Kinsella

We wonder if she’s doing the same thing this year?

How many Irish households will follow the example of this upstanding citizen? This was sent to us last March, on Good Friday, as the pubs shut down and people endured those last days of Lent.

Tradition is important and religious traditions tend to have that extra bit of weight for the more devout among us. With that in mind, there are probably plenty of people out there today who really will try to avoid eating meat.

One Irish mammy, however, took it to new extremes and papered her house with warnings for her family to keep away from the burgers and sausages until Easter Saturday.

We have to say that we admire her commitment. Though if it were our house, we’d probably just sneak off somewhere and eat a pork chop in the bushes.

We’re sadly lacking in moral fibre, though.
