Most Irish households will have a bottle of champagne in their drinks cabinet but it’s only to be opened in any of the following situations.
1) Good news, like an engagement or wedding, 2) a debs or 3) the inevitable New Years celebrations when every single one of your neighbours comes into the house.
Winning the lotto is another acceptable reason to crack open the bubbly but that’s never going to happen…or is it?
Some lucky divils were on the news recently after their syndicate won the lotto but take a look as one of the ladies can’t quite get the hand of opening the champagne bottle.
I’m sure she doesn’t mind though because after all, SHE JUST WON THE BLOODY LOTTO!
