The 2022 Toy Show theme has been revealed

RTÉ has confirmed that this year's Toy Show theme is The Wizard of Oz. Speaking to RTÉ's news2day, Tubridy admitted he has never been this excited about the show before and that this year's edition is one of the best. He said: "This is going to be the biggest night of the year. I think this is possibly the nicest set I have ever seen, it is pure magic. "We are going to be following the yellow brick road all the way to Munchkinland to Kansas, to Oz, to the Emerald City." Tubridy added that the past few years have been tough for everyone so this year's Toy Show will offer people a sense of joy.

"It's indulgent and it's joy. I think it is joy. It has been a tough few years for everybody, and still tough, and this is like a splash of the rainbow in a grey world,"  he explained. "I can't remember the last time I was this excited for the Toy Show. It is the thing that is close to the hearts of everyone who will be watching. "Every age group, every generation, people will know from every walk of life where exactly we are going when we see the set-up."

Tubridy has also promised that this year's show will focus on home and on Christmas and will also get "back to basics". The Late Late Toy Show airs at 9.35pm on RTÉ One on Friday (25 November).
