Mid-week movie choices!

Two (and a bit) days down. Two (and a bit) days to go. This week is flying/dragging in, isn’t it? (Delete as necessary)

You can kill some time with a decent movie, either in the cinema (our reviews of all the latest big screen releases are here), or you can check out one of these crackers at home.

WEDNESDAY 15 FEBRUARY

Super 8 – FilmFour – 6.45pm

You know the way Stranger Things was about monsters? Well, that, except about aliens. And a much bigger budget.

Beetlejuice – Comedy Central – 9pm

“Ah, well… I attended Julliard… I’m a graduate of the Harvard Business School. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I’ve seen The Exorcist about 167 times, and it keeps getting funnier every single time I see it! Not to mention the fact that you’re talking to a dead guy! Now what do you think?! You think I’m qualified?”

Sinister – Horror Channel – 9pm

Ethan Hawke is a writer suffering from writer’s block, and he moves his family into a new home, which happens to be the site of a multiple murder. Actually, multiple multiple murders. So… yeah… the house is haunted. But by what??

Get Out – FilmFour – 9pm

Oscar-winning horror about a white girl bringing her black boyfriend home to meet her VERY white family. What begins as a series of awkward encounters soon turns into something much more sinister.

The Nice Guys – ITV4 – 10pm

Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe star in this 70s detective comedy thriller (ALL OF THE GENRES!), who initially are caught up with a missing girl case, only to discover that there are a number of hired killers trying to track her down. From the writer/director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, so you know the one-liners will be great.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
