9 times that The Inbetweeners was the most disgustingly brilliant show on TV

“But if she wasn’t your mum?”

Following the recent success of Derry Girls, viewers can’t help but be reminded of a certain four lads who bear a striking resemblance to Erin, Clare, Orla and Michelle. Four misfits who can’t seem to stay out of trouble, but also can’t seem to fit in either. Sound familiar?

Simon being sick

Right, let’s get straight into it so. Perhaps the most disgusting moment in the history of British television. Seconds after Will tells Carli’s little brother that her parents could well be “not only killed, but obliterated”, Simon vomits all over the young boy. Not the best first date ever.

Neil pisses the bed

Doesn’t get much better here, does it? The lads are staying in a college accommodation, and react just the way all normal guys would. By pissing the bed that you’re sharing with one of your mates. Naturally, they didn’t last much longer in the house…

Trapped in the toilet

Without a doubt, the most embarrassing moment throughout the entire show. The lads attend an underage disco (bad enough as it is), Simon gets with a girl, gets beaten up by a 12-year old, and ultimately they all have to hide in a toilet. Not only that, but Will decides to call his mum to rescue them. As Jay would say, “Tragic”…

Will’s enemy

In another new low for one of the character’s, Will not only tries to wheel a boy in a wheelchair away so he can flirt with a girl, but he then proceeds to shout over him when the guy tries to plead his case. Every one of them is as bad as the next…

Sneaking into a party

If you’ve ever faced the embarrassment of not being invited to a party, you should know to just accept your losses, and leave it. Not The Inbetweeners lads though, they decide to hop over the back wall, and crawl through dog shit to get in. And on top of that, Will decides to wear a tank-top. They really are a disaster.

“Have you been eating cat food again?”

This is Jay at his most cruel, and his most hilarious. He embarrasses Simon in the most perfectly horrible way imaginable, accusing him of absolutely destroying the toilet, leaving Simon to sadly cry “It was only a wee” as the love of his life walks away.

Knocking out a fish

I mean, the caption says it all. Neil literally punches a fish to death, because he reckons it’s a more humane way of putting it out of its misery.

Bumder

The origin of an insult that would go on to be used in secondary schools for years to come. History was made in this scene. Genius.
