Barry Keoghan has never looked scarier than he does in Calm With Horses

Barry Keoghan

Starring Barry Keoghan, Calm With Horses looks like it’s going to be an incredibly tense watch.

Barry Keoghan had a fairly incredible 2019, but it looks like 2020 is going to be even bigger for the Dublin man.

He will star as Druig in the upcoming movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Eternals, later this year, which is probably as big a role as anyone could get in this day and age.

But before that, we’ll see him as Dympna Devers in Calm With Horses, a new Irish movie from Element Pictures with Michael Fassbender on board as Executive Producer.

The movie is set in “dark rural Ireland”, where ex-boxer Douglas ‘Arm’ Armstrong (played by Cosmo Jarvis) has become the feared enforcer for the drug-dealing Devers family, whilst also trying to be a good father to his autistic five-year-old son.

Torn between these two families, Arm’s loyalties are truly tested when he is asked to kill for the first time. Sounds good.

Calm With Horses debuted at the Toronto Film Festival in 2019 and also played at the BFI London Film Festival last year, but it will not be released in Irish cinemas until 13 March.
