Carlo Ancelotti will be in the new Star Trek film, we’re deadly serious

Paul Moore

He’s boldly going where no manager has gone before.

The Chelsea hotseat isn’t one where managers tend to live long and prosper, but in the case of the incredibly likeable Carlo Ancelotti, he seems to have moved onto bigger and better things since his successful spell at Stamford Bridge came to an end.

During his time in England, the Italian manager won the double in ’10 but as Roman Abramovich frequently does, he dispensed of the former Juventus, P.S.G and AC Milan manager.

Ancelotti definitely bounced back from that setback though as he guided Real Madrid to La Decima in 2014 but Bayern Munich’s new boss is set to embark on a new frontier this summer, acting.

Speaking with Sky Sports News, Ancelotti revealed that he’s going to be playing a doctor in the upcoming Star Trek Beyond.

“The husband of actress Zoe Saldana [who will play ‘Uhura’ in the move] is Italian and I have a good relationship with the family. They were in Vancouver to film the movie and they asked me to come and watch. I went, spoke to the director [Justin Lin] and he said ‘I’ll put you in – small part’.”

The film is due for release in Ireland on July 22 and we’re very curious to see how Ancelotti gets on alongside the likes of Chris Pine, Idris Elba, Simon Pegg and Zachary Quinto.

Beem me up Carlo.
